how to build a garden box outside on hard pan dirt?

i usually do rototilling and what not to make gardens but a customer wants me to build a garden box tomorrow morning (6-17-09) well two boxes, but what all do i need besides the drill, screws and wood from HomeDepot?how do i connnect em? special things? please help me out, i am good with hands so i know i can do it, i have an idea but wanna make sure, thanks......
