How to: BlackBerry to Cricket 8830 or any other BB

thanks dude!!! got it using berry_lthirds method on a 8830 one question though does the mip+sip need to be changed to sip only or does the sms work when it is on the default mip+sip setting? thanks again for great thread :buddies:

Hi
I have 8830. It is working with CDMA carrier but won't do OTA - may be because it is a Sprint & I am usning it Outside USA with my CDMA.

MyCarrier did activated it by manula programming but I wonder if there is a way to ativate OTA. Reason being my area has 1X but in other areas my carrier has EVDO which uses a diff prl. So if OTA is not working & I travel to EVDO areas, I don;t get EVDO.

Also i checked my Carrier's orig 8830. It has EVDO entries (##SPC send) even for my prl version but I don't have that info in my SPrint ???? ANy idea why?

i'm a bit of a nooby but i've already flashed a ppc 6900 and a mot q thanx to all you guyz on this forum...... i'm trying to flash a sprint 8130 to metro. I changed the spc to 000000 & I was able to load prl but i still gets no service .... it only gets service while on sprint prl... I would really appreciate it if some one could help me

This is for Sprint BB Curve 8330

If u don't have the spc follow this:

1) use unicdma change port to 1-4 on what available from desktop manager
2) used unicdma to dump ram using 0x1067ED90 length 0x00100000 (from other post) - a lot of data!!! i was going nuts!!!
2) sent dump to hex workshop
go down to byte 00090cf6 - bam, there is you spc!! all alone comfy and warm

say thanks if this helps..... 100% on about 5 units now......

used pc in workshop and all good!!!! :clapping:

This is the way i did it on my Blackberry and it worked great.

Step 1.
Download And Install QXDM 2.08.05 And The Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Step 2.
Open The Blackberry Desktop Manager and let it Recognize your Phone.

Step 3.
* Click on Start Menu
* Right Click on My Computer
* Click on Manage
* Click on Device Manager
* Go to Ports (COM & LPT) and you'll see 2 Rim Virtual Serial Ports V2 (COM #)

Step 4.

- Open QXDM 2.08.05 (ensure VIEW is set to COMMAND OUTPUT)
* Go to Options
* Communications...
* Select and try One of the Rim Virtual Serial Port V2 (COM #) Step 3
*** Note: If it's connected to the right COM Port, you'll see a bunch of letters, numbers on the QXDM Screen.
- If you you have your Blackberry SPC already, do the following steps:
Don't forget to use " "

a) mode offline-d
Turns radio off and sets to service mode. Check phone radio is off.

b) spc "******"
Replace asterisk with the 6 digit code. Output should read successful.

c) pr_list_wr 0 "C:\The name of your prl.prl"
If needed change file path to location of PRL. Output should read successful.

d) nv_write sec_code {"000000"}
Optional: use this command to change code to zeros or another 6 digits.

e) nv_write nam_lock 0 0
Removes the NAM lock

f) mode reset
Reboots phone to reset mode.

Step 5.
Press ##Your SPC + Send and edit your NAM settings.

Step 6.
Call your Service Provider and tell them that you want to activate/Register your new phone.

Code:
If you don't unlock the Nam, after the reset, the prl from sprint overwrite ur prl and the phone just working on roaming..

I do have a link for those files needed, but I don't know if I can post here.. if it is not problem on that, please moderator, let me know.

I don't create anything of those steps, I just search on foruns and collect info.

It is musch easy on guide like this one, if u have the solution, just write down, and stop to write this: GO TO THE F****** search and look.
This is just make horse for some people and a long Guide, that u never find anything.

:buddies: Thank U :2thumbs:

Hey Randomwit, did you ever get a chance to test the commands on 3.09 qxdm? A couple pages back someone mentioned adding request to the legacy commands on 3.09. I am trying to write PRL to bbery with qxdm becuz my infosoft is acting up.
Also, someone said earlier they could write prl to blackberry with cdma workshop? I cant get cdma workshop to connect to blackberrys at all. Is there something Im missing?
Thanks
