Hi, I've always liked english for a long time and I'm only in grade 11 now. I would like to become a book editor, more precisely an acquisition editor. I know that first it's an editorial assistant which are doing jobs like balancing cheques, taking messages, mostly work that doesn't really involve much editing at all. Then there's a assistant editor, copy editor, acquisition editor, and editor. I don't like being in charge of others so I wouldn't like to be at the top. I've researched a lot and an acquisition editor works with the author mostly and reviews what would be sent in for actual consideration.
So if anyone could give me advice on how to do well, which courses to take in university since it seems like a lot of websites have varying suggestions for that, and hopefully some stories of experience. Thanks very much in advance, and I know it's still a longs way to go and a lot of effort but I'm very very willing to take the steps. =)
