You probably can find a reference book about colleges with good TV/Radio programs. I'm a little biased toward Syracuse, but there are all sorts of others.
The rules are pretty basic -- doing your homework in school and about news/sports, learn the business, get an internship at a real station when you can.
For what it's worth, women have an advantage in sports broadcasting because they are on the rare side. You don't have to look like Erin Andrews to get a job in TV sports, but you do have to keep up your appearance a bit -- just like men do when they are on TV. Comes with the territory.
