How to become a fan of a sport you know nothing about?

Im starting with the KU Jayhawks as the team I like but I know nothing really about sports or basketball.

Where do I get started on being a fan? And learning everything I can about the hawks?
 
you could go to their site and learn about their history players and so on... and to learn more about basketball in general you could try going to nba.com and looking up rules and so forth
 
Watch ESPN everyday and come on here and ask questions about things you didnt understand.
To get you started, the Jayhawks when it come to basketball, are in the top five best schools in history. the other four are Kentuky UCLA Duke and North Carolina.
