How to Barter for Photography Services - What to ask for?

I'm a professional makeup artist who needs to improve the look of her portfolio. Specifically, I want to make it more professional looking. I'm trying to barter my services to photographers in exchange for professional quality pictures. Does anyone know the number of shoots I should offer in exchange for the pictures etc? Any ideas/details are greatly appreciated.
 
I would actually disagree with the first post. Right now, a LOT of people are bartering services. The economy is still in pretty bad shape, and a lot of people are cash poor, but still need services.

I would say start with trying to get an equal trade... you do make up for one shoot, and get at least one pic for each model you do makeup for, with at very least the right to display the photo in your portfolio, but I would ask for the ability to reprint, and/or a digital proof.
 
I don't think you'll have much luck. Bartering is common in the Middle East and Asia but not so much in the US or Europe. The only exception is when the two parties actually know each other and have trust in each other.
