How to ask him to the dance?

So, i wanna ask this guy too the dance (homecoming) and hes just not the type of person who goes to dances. But, i really want too go with him what do I say and how should I do it?

step one: "accidentally" bump into him (tehehe...)
step two: start a casual conversation. make him laugh
step three: simply say "so do you wanna dance?"

ITS BRILLIANT!!
 
lol well just be lyke.....Hey I would like to know if you want to come to homecoming with me? I would really love it if you were my dancing partner, if you dont want to dance with me all of the songs, we can just hang, but i would really really really love it if you came with me....lol dats what i would ask 2 a girl...try it
 
Is he your boyfriend? If he is it shouldn't be too hard to ask him, since he is your boyfriend.
If he isn't, then you can still ask him ;) Just say, "Hey, (name of person). The homecoming is going to be so fun...but I don't have anyone to go with. Will you go with me? If you don't want to, thats fine." and wait for his answer. If he says no, don't be embarrssed, it'll be fine :) if he says no, just say "Alright, thats fine. See ya." And walk away or whatever you wanna do after that xD
