How to ask Dad to exchange cell phone?

Okay, I had a palm centro before and it broke =[ I mean I loved it, but it's getting really old to me. since the contract for my phone was up I was able to get another phone. Well, my dad got me another palm centro in a different color. I said thanks and acted happy, but was really pissed I didn't get a different phone. How do I ask him to exchange it before the 30 day policy is up without being snooty and demanding? He is really strict with phones and I have enough money for the phone I want soo yahh
