how to add long distance to $25 plan?

Well I tried times in the past to add the long distance of $5 a month (which also said it came with free voicemail and caller id) to my $25 plan. However, this apparently was not possible and did not work despite it being described in cricket pamphlets and posters on this group confirmed this.

Well is there any other way to add long distance without having to put money at $.1 a minute in my flex bucket because I dont want to get involved with the flex bucket because I heard they charge you $5 a month just to have the flex bucket.

Right now I use the 99cent store 1cent a minute long distance card programmed as an entry in my phonebook but this is tedius. Btw this card has no connection fee whatsoever.

please refrain from double posting... it is poor form. the $25 plans came with your choice of long distance OR text messaging. I would assume since you do not have long distance you do have text messaging. they also camre with voicemail, but not caller id...

they do not charge anything for you to have a flex bucket. there is a recurring $5 option available that will deposit $5 into your bucket and charge it on your bill.. however cricket's domestic long distance rates are not good when paying out of the flex bucket (like $0.08 per minute)... as I siad in your first post on this topic.

: / Personally, if I understand the situation correctly, the best bet may be to upgrade your $25 dollar plan to Cricket's $30 plan. The difference is the $5 dollars you're already prepared to pay every month, but there is the one-time $15 surcharge when one changes plans. (This isn't greed so much as an attempt to discourage folks from changing plans frivolously.) Since the $30 plan seems to have everything you want at the price you want, it makes sense to bite the bullet and make the jump.

I'm too cheap :buddies:
well I can just use my tmobile prepaid when I need to roam or make long distance and I guess program my calling card into my cricket phone. it is good though that I can drive all down the I-10 from phx to casa grande and get cricket signal, with the caveat I have to use my long distance calling card when I hit the 520 area code. i just have to explain to people why my normal nuraber does not appear but usually when they find out that my plan costs only $25 they are jealous
