How the heck do you solve a nonlineal function?

I need to solve the nonlinear function f(x) = x² + 1 using f(0), f(-2), and f(2). I don not understand this at all and could someone please explain to me how you did it I'm completely lost on how this all falls into place!!! HELP!!!
