OK, here's the story.
The angle of depression from a hot air balloon in the air to a person on the ground is 36 degrees. If the person steps back 10 feet, the new angle of depression is 25 degrees. If the person is 6 feet tall, how far off the ground is the hot air balloon?
This is how i did it:
"tan36=(y+10)tan25..." then after some more work this is what i got next. y=(10tan25)/(tan36-tan25), that gave me "y". Then to find out x(the height) i... i don't know what to do next, and i dont even think i started out correctly... plz help!
