...negatives? I'm looking into working as a Camp counselor somewhere in Washington state (I threw a dart at a map and ot landed on Washington). The camps and website looks very professional and well-put together, unlike the girl scout councils around me (which is why I'm looking elsewhere). I was originally planning on working at a camp near me which ran sunday-Friday, giving me a mini-weekend break. Yet the dealings with that camp and council fell through. I survived my first year of college 5 hours away from home, yet I'm just not sure about going across the country for a summer job. I've been in girl scouts since kindergarten, I have my bronze, silver, and gold award, and I've been working day camps for the past 5 years, so I know a thing or two about how things work. I've heard fairy tales and horror stories about girl scout camps, yet every camp I've been to through girl scouts has brought nothing but lasting memories. Getting to the point....
Is girl scout camp really worth it? Anyone out there have any advice? Do you know if some camps can chip in for the plane ticket? Is it possible to still be a resident camp counselor and leave with your sanity intact?
Yep, its a lot of questions, but I can't thank you enough for your answers. (Please be nice to me even if you think I'm nuts)
