how soon can you wash your hair after you dye it?

I dyed my hair yesterday, and i was wondering when should i wash it?
i don't want the dye fading out, so when should i wash my hair?
tonight or tommorow? and how many times a week should i wash it to make the colour stay in for as long as it can?
by the way, i have used a semi permanent hair dye
help please
