How soon can you start to take a test?

I was told that the day after you cycle was the day to try haveing a baby, Is that true?Should i take a test.Me an my husdand been trying to have a baby for a year.Any suggestions.
 
My best adive would be every month take a test. I think its after your 3 weeks or something. But some tests can detect preganicy earlier then other. Like I said just once a month taske a test, and i u miss ur eriod, or having anything unusual happen, go see yout doctor. good luck and hope you have a baby. :)
