I have to do a book report on twilight. The book report involves a presentation and the opening is suppose to "catch my audiences attention." How should I start it?

you should put the directions in here also
then people could help you more

"She was about to die a noble death that wasn't nearly as noble as her ego had made it seem to her...."

Start with an interesting quote from the book to catch their attention. Make sure it will catch the male's attention too, so probably not mushy gushy quote.

"Would you become something, something inhuman and dangerous, to be with the one you love?"

"Edward Cullen is my boyfriend. He climbs in my window at night and breathes at me."

maybe like when i moved to forks, washington i didnt know so much in my life would change....

(well first read the book...... )then when you've grasped the meaning and details, start with an important quote from it. its a very good read and i hope you do well!

always include the name of the book and author and a brief summary of the book in the introduction to a book report

Bite someone, and drink their blood. Preferably a willing volunteer, so you don't get in trouble.

I don't know if this would be considered plagourism, but repeat some exact lines from the preface because it's very interesting, about her death and everything. You might even say it in third person instead of having it be like Bellas saying it, here: (if you want it in 3rd person)

Bella had never given much thought to how she would die-though she'd had reason enough in the last few months-but even if she had, she would not have imagined it like this.
Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, somebody she loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something.

Then go on to tell about the rest of the book. I'd suggest asking your teacher about it first to make sure its not plagourism or anything, but that would really catch my attention.

Hope I helped!

you could start with a
-rhetorical question
-fact
-interesting quote from the book that would catch the eye of readers who havent read it

imagine you fell in love with a monster. A beautiful, charming, irresistable monster who thirsted for your blood, a vampire. im sure you've all heard of the recent movie 'Twilight'...

Well... if its orally, you could quickly talk about vampires (their evolution trough time, in cinema and literature), the myths surrounding them and how stephenie meyer made her "own" vampires. But don't make it too long, make it interesting, and avoid long listings. When I have to do an oral I read, watch, listen to everything that is related to the subject it makes me more comfortable, less stressed and might bring new ideas. You could also show pictures, videos...

I hope this helped you!!!
Good luck ;)

start by saying this:

In most books, there is always one set solution. In twilight, there is no solution, just a happily ever after that continues on forever.

and in the end say

So the lion fell in love with the lamb

you should start with something like
stepenie meyers book twilight has taken the world by storm. an 107 year old vampire stuck at the age of 17 and bella a normal teenage girl whos life changes when she moves to forks, washington.

maybe something like that

If your teacher is making you do a review on twilight instead of your choice, that sucks.

I would start it with maybe a shocking phrase from the book, or an exciting moment. Then go into a report on it.

I personally disliked the book because of all the love myths:
