Im going to basic training in 5 months and i just want to know how can i prepare myself physically and mentally for it?

Just continue to eat healthy, run as much as you can, sit ups, push up and I would suggest trying to go to bed early (8pm) and waking up early (5am) so you can get used to the sleeping schedule you will have while in BCT. I'm not sure those are the exact times, I'm using 8pm and 5am as an example.

Every other day run 3miles, 50 push ups 100situps. weights, 30 Squats, and 20 Up downs 30 pull ups. This will make basic training easy for you,
You could do less and work way up. This will help a ton

First just accept the fact that you will not have any control over what you will do or how you will do it. Physically you need to look online for the Army PT standards for PT Test and find your age bracket and try to do it every few days. if you can pass the pt test a 60% you can go in as a PFC if you are not already

Do like 5 push ups...

Seriously, that's probably the most rigorous the PT is going to be.

Also in speaking of diet, military food tastes like crap, but whenever you do PT after eating it, you can actually hold it down. I think they put something in it. I would sometimes eat McDonalds 5 hours before working out and I'd still want to puke after running.

as a 22 year vet, the big thing to work on is your mental attitude.always remember what the mind believes..the body will achieve.with that attitude work on 3 mile runs 30/50 push ups and 30 pull ups and you will be in top shape for the toughest basic training. and should fly right through it.and be prepared to be told what when, and where to do everything.and learn to keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut. and you will survive
