How should i paint my room?

I'm painting my room purple, like a lavender. I have a purple bedspread and stuff. I was planning on doing 3 walls purple, and 1 wall a contrasting color (like orange or light green or something). I might want to do like a cool design on the wall (like squares or circles or something). Just any tips on what i can do with the paint to make it a roomy space that i can relax in.
 
if you do a green it might clash id do a very light green or a teal, my daughter wanted black and green then she grew out of it if you can get paint swatches (those color cards) at home depot or Lowe's bring it home and see what you think good luck
