I plan on buying a neon green ZZR. I can't wait. I'm guessing that it would cost me from 300 to 700 tops. Big gap in between. Soooo....

What's the best insurance company?
And best months to insure it for? Or year round. I plan on biking in the winter and through all types of weather.
Don't worry the baby nina will be in safe hands.

Also this will be my first big investment. Still deciding on what jacket and gloves to buy. I'm most likely going to buy a full faced shoei matte helmet. I just can't wait anymore it's been too long!

DO YOU FEEL ME??

always the golden rule of all motorcycle riders..... FULL COVERAGE... if and when you drop it, if and when it is stolen, and if or when you crash.... these are accepted guidelines like the laws of physics.. it will always happen.. what goes up must come down.. you are better off getting full coverage and "gap" insurance if you are financing.

You're right to call her baby nina. LOL.

You should call at least 5 insurance companies to get a good rate. Motorcycle insurance rates vary greatly. Some companies give you a discount for taking a MSF safety course. You should get full coverage, not just liability.

i have geico moto insurance, nothing more than state minimums, on an 08 ninja 250, i'm 25, female, no accidents/tickets, good credit, have taken MSF and have had my m endorsement for 3 years.. my insurance is about $100/year.

i ride year round so i insure it year round.. if you know you're not going to ride in the winter, don't insure it for those months... it's not like the months have different price tags, it's all the same to them.

i DO NOT think that's the best insurance, i have been meaning to research it and change it. also, if my motorcycle gets stolen i'm SOL with my current insurance. my friend told me he had progressive, i'm just too lazy.

why don't you just try to get quotes from a couple of places? that's your best bet.

I feel you! Insurance may be mandated by the state in which you live in order to have it licensed. If you aren't going to ride it on the street, or if you are going to use it to race, then you won't be able to insure it if you state that you are going to race it. Sounds like the first option is what you are going to use it for. Maybe you won't need full coverage, but at a minimum you will need and should want to have liability coverage for any damages which will be considered to be your fault. Nothing like hitting the back of a $40,000 car with a $300 bike and having to foot the bill for the repairs!
