I am a 20 year old college student. My dad is a single hard working business man. He is a senior vice president at his firm. The company has a strict no dating policy between employees.
Recently while looking for a phone number in a text in his phone (with permission) I came across some intimate text messages he is exchanging with a female employee of his. They have been talking a lot and exchanging gifts. He is even buying gifts for her young son.
Recently, he has been going out at night and every weekend. Through receipts he has left laying around it is clear that he is going out with her.
Let me be clear when I say that I am very happy that he has found someone after being single for 10 years post divorce with my mom. He deserves to be happy with whomever he chooses!
My concern lies with his position at his company. He is my sole source of income for both living expenses and college tuition. He is also the primary care giver for my grandmother who has dementia.
My question is should I confront him about the situation? or do I keep playing dumb?
If you think I should confront him, what do I say so I don't come off as a jealous kid but a concerned adult?
