I can't write the exact details,because people on here might try & steal it. Whatev,lol. Anyways
To put it the best way I can without fully giving it away,it's kind of a love story. {No vampires & no teens,lol} Between 2 adults. The problem is,is that I can't think of anything to make the story better. I'm on my 8th or 9th chapter,but I don't want to rush into the story,but at the same time,there is nothing interesting happening,AT ALL. I am trying to write my story as best as I can. Everything in the story is going to be things that can happen in reality. There's gonna be marriage,children,violence,mysteries,etc. Lol. But,my main character is a 23 year old female that lives in a town that I completely made up,lol. The second main character is a 22 year old male who just moved into the town that she lives in. I am still tryna think of how they will meet & eventually become best friends. My main character has NO friends,her only friend is her brother,lol. She can't get along with her own gender,ha. So I don't want to have to add any female best friends. Anyways,her brother is friends with a 'gang' of men who are pretty nice people,but are extremely dangerous to any criminal. {No,they ain't FBI agents,LOL} & the second main character is in that gang of men. They all move to the main character's town. Her mom,dad,& brother all live in the same town she does. Anyways...Her brother works as a waiter,& just gets a job at a nightclub. A brand new nightclub. The main character & her brother go to the club every night. {He works at the club as a bartender,& unfortunately,a bathroom cleaner. Lol} & the woman's brother's 'gang' visits the basketball court after they see their new friend & his sister at the court. {Although,they don't even know who she is at first,lol} All of the guys come except for A. {We'll call the second main character A & the main main character N.lol,I don't want any one stealing any thing from the story,not even names.} So A is going to be at N's brother's workplace after N's brother's boss leaves out of town for a few weeks. So that means that N's brother {D} gets to freely be the DJ at the club,lol. Anyways..I'm getting off track again,lol. The point:I have NO idea how to make the story interesting,all I've been writing is things like:"Today was Nov.11th. Nothing was going on,I hadn't heard from my brother in forever." Or something like that,lol. Again,she has no friends,she has 2 jobs,but no where to go really. She is obsessed with basketball {as well as almost every character in the book,lol} I was even thinking of having my characters go to the inside school gym & seeing a 'basketball tournament'..but,I threw away that idea because,again,I want everything in the story to be things that would be 'common' in reality. Where I live,there is NEVER any basketball tournaments held,lol,like most places too. It's too 'movieish'. I am losing ideas of events that could be held in the story to make it interesting before the VERY interesting things happen. But the only thing I currently have my character doing now is working,cleaning a house that rarely gets dirty,bugging her brother all of the time lol,going to a nightclub & occasionally playing basketball with her brother. Sorry if none of this is making sense,but I'm stuck lol.
So,what do you do to make your stories realistic & interesting,before you actually get to the main events?
N eventually gets along with D's new friends,but I'm still trying to find a way for them all to get along & actually become best friends.
