The side mirror on the passenger side of my 1999 Toyota Avalon was somehow broken one night and I can't seem to figure out what to do. I tried just replacing the glass but when I removed it I saw that there were wires attached and the mirror Kragen sold me didn't have any.
I was looking into it and it looks like I should be able to replace the whole thing, but I was wondering if this would be too hard for a relative novice. I can change brake pads and do basic maintenance, but I read that I would have to take the door panel off. Is this very difficult?
Also, if it is just the mirror that is broken, is there some where you know of that I can buy just the mirror with wire connections? Is it even possible to disconnect those wires?
Sorry for the series of questions but I have been having a lot of trouble finding the answer online.
