About 2 months ago, I was asked to babysit a 3 yr old boy. I didn't previously know these people but had babysat for someone who was a mutual friend. I was told that I would have him M, T, Th, F, & Sat and that the schedule would fluctuate from either 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. or 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. I live in a small town, so I didn't want to charge too much so I told him that it would be $15/day. Now I've discovered he isn't really potty trained like they said he was. They cancel on me all the time, always last minute and that's if they bother to call at all. I'm not getting him on the days I was told I would, and when I do have him, he is always here from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. They do not send drinks, snacks, or food. I'm a stay-at-home mom, but a full-time college student and I only agreed to take on this job because we could use the money but at this point, what was supposed to be about $75+/wk has turned into about $30. How can I politely explain the problems and what demands can I reasonably make???
