How sad is it that the McCain camp insisted on dumbing down the VP debate to

It doesn't matter how they change the format. Palin has no chance of coming out credible. I am sure that is why Obama/Biden ok'd the change. They have no fears in any format.
 
accomodate Sarah Palin? There should be no doubt any longer that Palin lacks certain qualifications for the position.

edit: I'm still trying to figure out why the Obama/Biden camp agreed to it? They should have insisted on the original format.

If she is ready to be 1 step away from the Presidency, then she has to be able to take both barrels and stand up to it.
 
She is just red-meat for the GOP's right wing religious fanatics. That is her value to McCain who has sold his soul to the "agents of intolerance" (remember YOUR words John?) and hired Rove smear machine to grease the skids to the white house with slime ("I will not take the low road the the highest position in the land" Remember YOUR words McCain?). Dumbing down the VIP Debate to protect Sarah from any real scrutiny is consistent with all W Bush's hand picked audiences.

Why would the Dems agree to such a thing? Was it "agree to this or no debate at all?"

And to think she would be VIP for a 72 year old Cancer survivor (?). McShame brings McPain

She needs to deal with it! You can't just make adjustments because someone is not an expert in debating. Suck it up, it's just a little interview, she should have nothing to worry about if she thinks she can truly be #2 in command.
 
DAMN! How much more unqualified for the job of VP (possibly President) does she have to be for people to get it? Being outmatched in a debate is what McCain should have thought about before going the "female" route.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against women moving into powerful positions, but by him picking a person, who happens to be a woman, and having to try to mold her so she can "LOOK" informed during a debate, does not exactly convey a positive image of what women would say they want representing them.

What's next? Are they going to be able to read a teleprompter or look at notes? She is a joke that not everyone has got yet.

I have no ill will toward the woman personally, but I think the only reason she was chosen was because Hillary Clinton isn't the Dem's VP. If she was, Palin would never have even crossed their minds. Every time I hear her talking, it's either something someone coached her to say, or more of that "dude" type of speak. Please... I'd never call my husband a "dude", and I"m younger than she is!
 
I know.

It is like they are saying we know this is not a qualified person but we will train her in two months for the second most important position in the world - even if it did take five colleges and six years for her to get a BA in journalism.

The reality is if McCain kicks the bucket Palin alone will represent America! And even worse this is a very big possibility.

Not only that.

Why would we put someone in the VP office who is not worthy of it? I mean come on she said on live TV someone would have to tell her what VP does because she doesn't even know!

You can even be president one day honey!- is what we say to children....

But one must also work a long time while working hard and must also be righteous to be president is the fact that is left out....

I guess we can now tell our daughters hey all you have to do is be a mayor of a small town on the outskirts of America be insane and shoot helpless creatures! And you can be VP!!

But I guess the past 8 years have paved the reality of... really ANYONE can be president.

They should just make it a TV show like American Idol!

I think in her interview about if she were to become running VP with McCane she said that would be really COOL!!!

Wow!!! How embarrassing we are making not only America LOOK DUMB but WOMEN as a whole!!!
 
This is NOTHINg compared to the fact that Obama has repeatedly refused to participate in town hall meetings with McCain. Add to that the fact that he can't go anywhere without his teleprompter and he's basically got the same problem. And the most embarassing thing is that he's actually running at the top of his ticket. Don't be hypocrites, libs. Is this bad for Palin, sure. But don't conveniently gloss over the fact that your top man is just as scripted and controlling about the situations he puts himself in.

Friday will mark 4 weeks of Palin being on the scene.
The 'Rock Star' is quickly becoming the 'Shooting Star' soon to become the 'Falling Star'
 
They didn't want women to be portrayed as morons.

Palin makes a much better role model if she's made to appear somewhat intelligent.

So the Obama/Biden campaign is thinking ahead a generation.

Besides, making Palin actually talk about the issues in a national spotlight is just cruel.
 
We know she is weak on foreign policy and woefully inadequate in general. McCain's stunt was a cynical ploy to win the election.
And many of the American sheeple ARE that dumbed down.

In the end the lack of intelligence and general dis interest in the world at large will doom the Republic. Alexis De Tocqueville saw this as early as 1824.

Just because some one can breed, bake cookies and shoot a moose does not make her remotely qualified to be a Vice President.

But what I think is going on here has to do with the legacy of Dick Cheney. McCain won't stand for someone who could potentially become so powerful as to run the country from a shadow government, while the puppet figurehead president distracts the world at large from seeing where power is TRUELY vested.

Palin can play in her sand box and be given assignments to keep her happy..until McCain dies in office from a stroke brought on by a fit of pique.

If this were not such a lame story it would be a Shakespearean tragedy.
 
Yes. This just reinforce that Palin is grossly unqualified for VP. Why are they making special arrangements for her? Why is McCain hiding her from the press? She is suppose to be ready on day one. She said she is a pit-bull with lipstick. Sound like a scary cat to me. This show poor judgement by McCain. He will do anything to win. McCain is willing to RISK American lives because Palin lacks foreign policy or national security. If elected and anything should happens to McCain, this woman will be president. That's a scary thought!! (=
 
I know. They may as well have issued a press release, "Sarah Palin is not ready to be VP".
