How reliable are non-official Mini SD cards?

I can get a 3rd party 2gb Mini SD card off Ebay for about 20 quid, yet Nokia sell their own branded version for ?50+.

I'd be backing up regularly, a weekly basis, but nevertheless, how reliable are the non official ones compared to the official efforts?

?35+ is a hell of a lot extra to pay if it's purely to have the word 'Nokia' plastered on its cover.

PQI branded 2gb card did not work in my N73. Bought a Sandisk 2gb, and it's working fine for over a month now.
 
Yep, some brands work better than others. However, MOST 3rd parties work just fine. I have a 2GB Adata in mine that I got from Newegg on the cheap, works like a beauty (tested in n73, n80, e61, n93).

I actually noticed that the Transcend receiving the praise was the 1GB flavour. I wanted 2GB. So went for Motorola 150x in the end.
 
Just bought a Patriot 2gb mini-sd for my e70-2 and it works great. Transfered an album worth of mp3s, an episode of The Office (divx works wohoo) and a bunch of pics in a couple of minutes via the USB cable (stupid laptop doesnt have bluetooth).

Best part? It was $21 at newegg.com
 
I bought a 2GB PQI from eBay and it hasn't been reliable. My guess is there may be a timing issue because it's supposed to be a higher speed than the Sandisk. So right now I'm awaiting the arrival on a new Sandisk.

Oh well... spend and learn.
 
I bought the Meritline.com special 2GB A-Data and it's been slow. Way slower than my orig. 512MB Nokia. Playing mp3s and movies have been no problem...but, installing apps. in memory card takes longer for sure.

Other than that...it's been OK.
