You cannot get a tattoo without a parent while you are a minor. So the legal age is 18.

The age of consent for a Tattoo in your area is 18 years of age. Otherwise, they also allow anyone who is family i.e living in your household to sign the forms. So this could mean if you have any friends, and mates who are 18+, they can pose as your brother/step-brother and you can get away with it.

Well I hope it's 18. Any shop that would tattoo someone younger than that is a trashy shop and I wouldn't ever get a tattoo there.

ummm.. personally I think you should think it over. Think about it when your 65 years old and your skin is sagging i don't think you want a tatoo. I think its 18 in most states though.
