i have 4 kittens who will all be getting spayed on 4/12 when they will be 6 months old.at present they are with their mum who is feral in an outdoor enclosure. they have plently of room and have indoor area as well as outside. their mum has been there with them since i caught her in June and now i really need to allow her freedom. the only thing is i cant open the pen for her and let go free as the kittens will also get out. i wanted to know at what age can i allow them to roam freely, I was thinking of around 8 months old? once they have been spayed i am knocking through from their pen into my garage so they will all have even bigger area to explore but still be safe.please dont hink the mum is trapped in a little pen, i know she is longing to get out and away as she has never known a real home and been around humans. in the 6 months i have had her she has gone from a spitting hissing freal to now eating from my hand even though as yet she has never been stroked. the kittens are tame but had to stay in her pen as all born with ringworm and i couldnt get them treated untill i could remove them from their mum.their mum was spayed when the kittens were 7 weeks old so if she did run away now shed be ok.
