We inherited a Graco swing set, but have no information on it. Our baby is 13 days old, and sometime fusses. We would like to use the swing to calm her, but would never jeopardize her safety. Does anyone have any advice/thoughts? Thanks!

My daughter used her swing from birth until 5 months (by that time she was rolling over so much she could roll right out of the swing...even when strapped in). Just make sure baby is strapped in properly, and it'll be fine. Good luck.

I would wait until she's closer to 4-months of age before putting her in it. Since your daughter is only 13-days of age...she's more than likely fussy because she's hungry. When my first child was 10-days of age, he too was fussy because he was hungry...the doctor instructed me to give him a small amount of baby rice cereal - he slept great after that.

We started using a swing immediately with both children. But, we did have a cradle swing that reclined further than some. I would look for the swing's instruction guide online. Then you'll know weight limits, etc.

depends on if it reclines, if it does, right away, if it remains in a semi upright position, its fine when baby can hold head up by themselves

I have a Cradle and Swing, the swing lays back etc... and my daughter was in it the second day at home. I had to shower and she was fussing. I put her in there and she was content and fell asleep. I just made sure to buckle her in. Also, if you do not have a Cradle swing... and you need more head support you can add those head/ body supports you sometimes have to use in car seats. My cousin had a bigger swing and when her little girl was born my mom told her to do that because she did not want to have to buy a new swing. It kept my cousin's little girl snug and prevented her from moving all around. I also use my bouncer all the time too! My daughter loves both the swing and bouncer!!
