How Often Does Verizon's Mobile E-Mail Check for New Mail?

I recently just purchased a Verizon phone and signed up for a data plan. Included with the data plan is Mobile E-Mail. My limit each month is 25 MB. I would like to use the Mobile E-Mail application, but I was wondering: how often does the app check for new mail, and how much data does it consume during each check?
 
It depends on how many mails u view and the size of the mail. It doesnt matter how long u read ur mail. So, for less cost u can disable the image. This reduces ur cost by nearly 50%
