how often do you get to call anyone during boot camp (Navy)?

You'll make your one phone call when youbfirst arrive. After that it depends some divisons get to make calls for good behavior others may do good but don't get to call anyone. It all depends on your RDC's.
I did get to make one kind of long phone call right after we had completed Battle Stations, other than I didn't make any.

As often as your CC lets you. Usually within a few days of arriving to let people know you arrived OK. After that, it's a privilege that you have to earn.
 
When I went through in 2002, we were allowed to make a 2 minute phone call when we first arrived there. And a couple days before we graduated we were allowed to make a 10 minute phone call.
I heard stories of other division that were at boot camp at the same time getting phone calls every week.
I guess it really depends on your RDC.

I wrote letters a lot.
