my boyfriend left to Missouri with the National Guard for boot camp, I got one voicemail from a scratchy payphone the next day...I know that they are really busy and not to expect another call for a bit, but I am driving myself crazy checking the mail so I can atleast get an address to write to him. Do they have time to read letters if I send a couple a week? Also, when he goes to Arizona for AIT for the remaining 4 months, will he be able to use internet, cell phone, etc.? If anyone has advice, support, stories, or answers relative to any of this, please let me know ot put my mind at ease as to what goes on the next 7 months of mine/his life. Thank you!!!

My husband is also in boot camp until august and then in OCS until november. He's only been gone a few weeks but it already sucks! I had to wait for a phone call for almost a week, and it lasted about one minute. He called last Sunday for a few minutes and I just received a letter with an address. My brother in law was in AIT a few months ago and had internet and cell phone use, so im pretty sure your boyfriend will to. Hang in there and good luck, it gets a little easier each day!

National guard boot camp? or do you mean boot camp? As for the phone call that depend where he is. Some places they let them have cell phone..some they must earn there cell phone.

This is a good time to get used to seperation as it is part of military life.

NG, Reserves and Active Duty all attend the same basic training.

Usually calls are on Sundays if they get the privilege to call.

Yes they have limited time to write and read letters.

Once he gets to AIT it will be a little bit more relaxed. He should be able to have weekends free.

Try calling his family maybe they have the address. Try to stay busy.
