How often do people misuse logic in religious debates?

I have been debating this one person for a week now and it seems as if his use language makes it look like he is logical whilst committing innumerable fallacies. Has this ever happened to you? What do you do in this type of situation?

Often. Many people seem to think that they've soundly and logically refuted the opposing side merely by disagreeing with them.

I see this in here abundantly every day.
