...my apartment? Previously I was given a piece of purple heart plant in which I put in a small ceramic planter with soil and plenty water. Well it soon died and never rooted. After a recent trip to see family , I was given several plants straight from my cousins garden including another purple heart plant, aloe plant, and 2 other large plants that (please forgive me) I have forgotten their names. I was told to buy miracle grow potting soil to pot the plants in since I'm currently living in a one level apt. The land the plants came from used to be an old cow pasture. Its been almost a week and I'm a tad worried. The ends of each plant are turning yellow 
How often do I need to water these transported plants from a fertile garden to pots at my apartment? I keep them on my porch outside, so far great sunlight but black and yellow caterpillars have appeared. Have only watered them once this week. Please help, serious answers please
