How obvious is it that the authors of Matthew and Luke *embellished* the story of

Jesus' birth? To make him appear to be a perfect fulfillment of prophecy?

Neither Mark nor John mention this highly miraculous birth at all. Why does Paul never mention, or even hint at, the virgin birth of Jesus?

The simple fact that the two stories are different makes it pretty clear that each author was trying to shoehorn his story into prophecy.
