How much would it cost to replace the motor in a 98 Toyota corolla?

My car recently died, and I am debating whether to spend 2-4k on some marginal used car or if it would be better to buy a used engine and replace it in the car--

My car is a junker already anyway(it was my first car since 16 and I am now 24).

How much do you think it would cost to replace the motor, including the price of the motor?
 
You sure got your moneys worth there.

Sell the Corolla for parts. Take that money and add it to what you've
got towards a newer Toyota and your set....

I'm sure you know what the good parts are, even some you wouldn't
even think. ie...tail lights, electrical, glass, etc...

If the car is really far gone.....Send it to the salvage yard and get
the scrap metal price for it...

OH, FORGET ABOUT A MOTOR, IT'S JUST NOT WORTH IT.
