how much would it cost to replace the cadeletic converter on a 88 toyota camry?

like how much for the piece itself and how much for the service would it cost? the car has 223k on it and it cant pass the smog according to my mechanic because of it and will cost 800 dollars to replace that and like 2 bolts or whatever. that seems a bit high to me
 
Autozone sells a catalytic converter for 72 dollars. I just had my old muffler cut off and a new welded on for 35 dollars. I'd go see a different mechanic.
