Whilst I was trying to take my britax rear-facing car seat out of my car, the belt somehow kept retracting (and locking into place) and soon I had a car seat that was lying sideways and sticking out of the door so I couldn't even close the door to drive to the mechanics!! classic mr bean moment. Amidst extreme frustration, I cut the seatbelt using a pair of kitchen scissors. Also is it legal to drive around like that (I have since moved the car seat to the other side where the seatbelt is perfectly ok; no one is going to be sitting in the cut seatbelt side)?
