How much would it cost to paint a white 1999 toyota camry a darker color like black...

I would think you would have to prime it atleast to get the new paint to stay on. Go to Maaco or a local paint shop and get an estimate. I think most places will charge less than $500.
 
...or blue? Would it make sense to just paint over the white? Or would i have to take off the white first?
