How much would a transmission and labor cost on my 93 Honda civic?

About 3000 which is more than the cars worth so the only way to go is used but the only thing there is you will spend close to half that and well the way honda transmissions are especially in those years it might be hard to find a good one.good luck!

Car keeps trying to accelerate even when i am not pressing the gas. I fear the worst.
That does not sound like a transmission problem! That sounds like the throttle position sensor (TPS)! This sensor tells the engine management computer how much gas to shoot into the engine through the fuel injectors. These are not expensive to replace and do wear out. If your car has 100,000 miles or so on it this is what I would look at first. A decent mechanic can check this out very easily and it should cost less than $50 for the diagnosis.
