Hi i'm looking for as much help as possible, I'm moving in with my girlfriend and her baby of 10 months in a few weeks and we're confused as to what monies and help we can claim.
The details are as follows,
I currently work 35-40 hours a week earning around 14,500 a year before tax,
She currently works 14 hours a week earning around 4,000 a year.
When i move in she's looking to work move maybe as much as 28 hours, earning 8,000 a year.
So my questions are a follows;
1. What working tax credit can we claim?
2. Would we be better off financially with her working the greater hours?
3 Even though the baby isn't mine what child benefits can we claim, i.e help with childcare cost etc?
4. Are there any additional benefits or like that i haven't mentioned that i should think about?
I greatly appreciate Any help i can get, and we're in no ways trying to live off the benefits, it just annoys me how hard it is to get money for people who are genuinely trying to get on with there lives.
Much Thanks
