How much will it cost to replace my automatic transmission on my ford mustang 2001 3.8L?

How much will it cost if I find a good mechanic, dont give me the average price, I need something close to a best case scenario.

the guy who said $1100 sounds closer. theres shops that sell rebuilt transmissions starting at around $750. If I were you, I would call a bunch of shops and ask how long a job it is. auto repair labor rates these days are close to $80 an hour. you should get lots of quotes on how many hours long the job is. do NOT go to the dealer!! unless you want to OVERPAY! otherwise look for neighborhood repair shops.
