How much to replace 99 Ford Explorer Sport fuel pump?

I will be taking it to a Ford Dealership-My car starts and just dies and this happened to me Jan08 and the Ford mechanic did a major tuneup and replaced an aa valve asy throttle air,replaced the spark plugs clean injectors,ect but nothing to denote a replaced fuel pump. A mechanic who is my neighbor adv it is probably the fuel pump as there is no gas smell when I start it.
 
if you do decide to get a new pump it would only cost about $80 to DIY but would cost hundreds to have someone else do it.
 
before changing out the pump, try pumping air backwards thru the system to blow out any obstructions in the fuel lines, this should be done especially if you have been running on empty a lot, it will save a lot of time and greenbacks, the pump may not be at fault, and you wont need to drop the tank or buy parts you didnt need in the first place
