The car burns quite a bit of oil and im tired of smelling the noxious fumes while its idling. I've considered an engine swap, but I don't really want to throw another high mileage engine in the car. The engine currently has 182K on it, and I'd like to keep the car till rust devours the body =] I love this car! I'm no mechanic so please don't suggest that I do it myself.
I'm not stupid. $3000 is ridiculous for a 1.5 liter engine. My mechanic quoted me a price much cheaper than that. I'm just trying to see what other people would charge.
The head isn't cracked. There's no oil in the coolant, I check it like every week.
