Hello, I am a freelance PHP developer. I am just starting out, so I guess you could say I am freelance. Recently, my friend referred me to a friend to do some PHP work. Mainly, the person wants me to do the PHP work for a client of hers. She is a graphic designer and does only HTML and CSS. She wants me to do about 9 things--not just PHP, but the important thing needs to be done in PHP:
1. create links to tablecloth size,
2. create category attributes, such as country of origin, material
3. images for the color options
4. list of products, with drop down for color/size options and Add All button
5. Import/export for databases
6. Build product categories attributes using XML / CSV/Excel (whichever works the best)
7. Migrating client's current database to Magento
and a couple more things
Those are very general descriptions, but basically, she wants me to do some custom product filter and survey work in PHP for Magento, which is a very difficult process and it is a risky process because if an update comes along then my code could be overwritten. The Magento part is the most important part. The deadline is in about 6 weeks and I need to make an offer tomorrow. My friend told me to charge 4K a month, but that seems a little high. Is 2K a lot? Also, the clients have the money. Please, can someone give me an honest answer?
