How much space around a dining table?

I have a dining space and don't know what size table to buy.

So:
How much space do i need between the table edge and the wall, if the seats are occupied and there is no traffic behind the seats - people shuffle in and take their seats in order.

How much space do i need between the table edge and the wall if there is traffic behind the seat?
