I have a 2006 YZF-R1 but looking to sell it and get the white 2009 Ducati 1198...I live in southern California. there are 2 dealers close to where I live..Irvine Spectrum Motorsport and Del Amo...anyone bought a Ducati 1198 there? how much should i really pay for it? thank you much

You are going to pay MSRP for it since it is a new bike. Brea Ducati had an 08 1098 in yellow for $13,000. If you are set on white then you have no other choice but some dealers are letting the excess 1098's go pretty cheap. Just a thought.

I bought my white 848 back in July for $15,800 O.T.D plus $700 for the extended warranty from Del Amo Motorsport. They first came out with a figure of over $17K and I started walking out before they said wait. I ended up buying the bike the next day without shopping elsewhere since it was a pure impulse buy. Don't make the same mistake especially during this recession. First, I would not pay MSRP regardless of it being a new bike and secondly I wouldn't pay the set up fee.

People say you can't 'haggle' on a new bike, especially a Ducati. That's just not the case. I never pay MSRP and I as well never pay freight, setup or any other fees.

Me either, usually I get my new Ducati for about $4K under MSRP, they eat the frieght and setup, then the dealer pays all the taxes and also throws in a full Termi exhaust plus a new helmet and all warranties.
