How much should I pay for a bike?

My aunt wants to sell me her bike. She says she paid $180 for it and was bought last year. She has only ridden it once. I don't want to rip her off, but I don't have a lot of extra money. What would be a good offer for this bike? Oh and she is selling it with a matching helmet.

If it's from Walmart or other department store I wouldn't give her more then half of what she paid. You would be better off getting a bike from the local bike shop or a quality one on the local ebay or Craig's list.

If it's a bike that cost $180 new, it's probably not worth buying.So pay who whatever you can afford to.
