Tell him to give you $50.00 and you'll take it away from him.

Without knowing what sort of shape it's in it's hard to tell, if it's been sitting for 10 years the interior is probably junk, the engine will need rebuilt, tranny as well. and the body is probably rusted out, tires are garbage.

Basically it's worth nothing.

Hi, and thanks for looking. My neighbor down the street has an old '70's (not sure of year) Ford pickup truck. The truck seems to be straightforward, however, I don't know about the mechanical details of the truck. They seem to not care about it, as it is used simply as junk storage.
Scenario 1: The truck had no MAJOR mechanical defects when it was parked, and the owner actually wants money for it.
Scenario 2: The truck had SOME mechanical defects, nothing TOO large
Scenario 3: The truck is missing major components, or is in mechanical dissaray.
Thanks again for looking. Just leave messages for each scenario of what you think would be a decent price. Oh, one more thing there is a truck shell with the vehicle, and would most likely be included with sale. However it is old, and kind of rotten. Thought it might be useful. I don't know the status of the interior, but that's not such a big deal to me anyways. Just figure on the normal interior condition for a truck sitting for 10 plus years without being covered.
Thanks,
Jason H.

no 1 500 if it runs decent which i doubt if its been parked 10 years im sure tires are dry rotted and seals in engine and transmission are dried out and will leak oil and trans fluid
no 2 100 any money you put into it will exceed value of vehicle
no 3 all its worth is scrap unless you were going to invest big bucks and time to restore it

600 bucks tops on any scenario. If it has been sitting for that long the engine may possibly be locked up. It is a safe bet the brake wheel cylinders are shot and possibly the master cylinder also. Rear axle seals are probably dried and cracked, Front wheel bearings probably have some rollers frozen up and the grease seals are probably dried and cracked also. If you buy it , before attempting to turn the motor over , remove the spark plugs, squirt some upper cylinder lube into each cylinder , let it set overnight and then try to turn it over with the spark plugs still out. Chances are also that all the carburator gaskets are dried out, so watch for gas leaks. Good luck , it sounds like some fun will be had tinkering with it trying to get it running. I bought a new F100 in 1970 when I returned from Nam for 1800 bucks , and drove it until 1997 and still got 700 bucks for it.
