I want to buy a used Toyota pickup truck. I heard they are one of the most reliable names out there.

-How much should I expect to pay for a Toyota Pickup around year 2000 with mileage about 90-120k miles?

-How low on the make year and high on the mileage would I have to go to get a Toyota Pickup for about $7000?

2000 year with 100K miles on it for $7000?
That seems a little steep, little too expensive. I'd expect more like $5000 or less.

I think you could get a 2002-4 model Toyota base model for about $7000.
But it also depends whether you get it from a dealer or private individual. Car lots will have them marked up more, because they gave them such good trade-in values, and then the cost to clean it up to resell. People selling their trucks you can get a better value, but then you've got to depend upon the truck being in good condition. You can always have it checked out by mechanic, to make sure it's in good condition. But I greatly prefer buying from individuals. I've learned to judge cars pretty well, but that's by a lifetime of making mistakes, too.

The one thing about 100K miles on any vehicle is that the timing chain or belt will have to be replaced soon. And that's hundreds of dollars. At least about $500. So unless they can guarantee by showing the work order/receipt for a new timing belt/chain, then you'll have to expect getting one soon. Even on Toyotas.
