How much should I expect off on a suzuki sx4 crossover?

I am looking at new 08s. Sticker prices are in the 17k range and I keep getting 500-700 off. The selling market is bad, I am expecting at least 2k - 3k off. Am I being unreasonable. Also, if I wait until jan, would it be better?
 
Check with Edmunds.com for MSRP and dealer costs as well as any current incentives.

Just because the sales market is bad doesn't mean they will give it away.....
 
There is not much profit built into those cars. 5-7 hundred off is excellent, but i believe there is also a $1000 rebate as well. So you should get 500-700 plus the 1000.
