well this is a big powerful motorcycle and if you are a new rider this thing has enough horsepower to really get you into a lot of trouble, not to disrespect your abilities in any way shape or form please do not misunderstand, its because this bike can launch so quickly, you can be in trouble and not know it until its too late. Mainly due to its power to weight ratio. I have wondered if the japanese have not been trying to kill off americans for years, Almost any bike past a 750 is serious overkill on the power to weight ratio. I had a friend that was a sidecar racer, he told me some stories about how detuned these big bikes really are and he had ridden some factory 750 race bikes that were so fast it was scary. Im really hoping you have some dirt bike experience, mainly because it helps a lot to grow up riding in dirt, because you learn early on how frigging hard dirt can be above 10 mph, you do not ever want to get tossed over the bars onto asphalt. its not only hard as hell, it will burn/shred skin like super duty sandpaper.
This is a heavy bike, and it takes some getting used too. I suggest test driving it in some in town traffic, while bikes look cool and all, some of the more top heavy ones (particularly with a full tank of fuel are ungainly pigs below 10 or 15 mph. Its just a fact that some bikes are better balanced than others. You might want to also keep in mind, honda has a much better record of durable bikes, cars, atv, lawnmower, what ever, you can look on www.nada.com and get an idea of what the bike is worth type it in your websearch box, click on consumer click on motorcycles and go from there, I checked the price, average retail is 2,445.Low retail was 1,943 bucks. best of luck, hopefully the bike was owned by an older guy, they generally take better care of their stuff, and don't drive or beat the pee out of it. RESPECT WHAT THE BIKE IS CAPABLE OF, AND YOU CAN HAVE LOTS OF ROCKET LAUNCHING FUN GETTING ON THE FREEWAY, Fire yourself too fast once, and you will be like the kid who cracked the throttle hard on a ninja 1000 in front of me blasted off like he was late for free hooker night, went about a hundred yards until traffic suddenly stopped. he hit a stopped car, flew completely over it, sailed about 20 more feet and landed his open face helmet right on the Receiver ball on the back of a dually. I drove down the side to get past the wreck just as the owner of the pick up was looking sickly at this helmet stuck on a trailer ball with a body attached to it. do your mom and dad a favor, please don't try that one, ride safe
